  • Which part of your creative process has been the most rewarding, or challenging to you?

Last year, I learned how to knit and crochet to cope with school stress. With those skills I was able to gift handmade items to my family, friends, and teachers. Seeing their reaction to my work is the most rewarding part.

EMILY DAW

  • 2024 + Fine Arts

  • What message or emotion do you hope to share with people through your art or business?

A lot of my work has to do with repressed emotions. I tend to draw inspiration from surrealism and exaggeration as it helps audiences to relate to something feeling or thought. The angst that is uncovered in the minds of the audience reveals buried feelings and thoughts from past experiences.

EMILY MUSCROFT

  • 2024 + Fine Arts

  • EJMuscroft

  • What message or emotion do you hope to share with people through your art or business?

I initially got into creating art because growing up I loved the process of making. I find great joy in making something to give to someone else, and being able to share that to a wider audience is really exciting!

ADAN BARAJAS

  • 2024 + Art

  • What message or emotion do you hope to share with people through your art or business?

The message I try to send is to not be afraid to show off your interests, no matter what other people might think of it. My prints are influenced by anime that I really enjoyed, and the symbolism and messages that they expressed really stuck with me.

  • Cool 2 B Kind

  • What message or emotion do you hope to share with people through your art or business?

I want to share these silly pins as a way to help others express themselves, I mean who doesn’t like having silly little guys on your backpack!

MARIAH GOMEZ

  • 2024 + Music Education & Humanities

  • Portraits by Mariah

  • What message or emotion do you hope to share with people through your art or business?

I hope to spread joy and encourage creativity through my business. Sometimes we get so busy with work and everyday life that we don’t allow ourselves to be creative enough. I hope to encourage people that whatever it is they like to be creative with, whether it’s drawing, painting, writing, playing music, or photography, to always remember to allow yourself to be creative just for the fun of it. No matter how old we get, there’s still the creative child within us that likes to color, play, and have a big imagination.

  • The Happy Hobby Hopper

  • What message or emotion do you hope to share with people through your art or business?

I want people to feel more comfortable expressing themselves, and in my experience that is done by seeing someone else living their life how they want to. It can be very inspiring, and I would like to be a role model for people who are hesitant to be themselves. My works are expressions of things I enjoy seeing or even just enjoy making, and I would love to share that feeling with others, and hopefully inspire them to try things that could help them live a more authentic life. Be weird, be you!

KAREN PECINA AGUILAR

  • 2025 + Art

  • Which part of your creative process has been the most rewarding, or challenging to you?

I think the feeling of seeing how good the artwork came out is the most rewarding part of my creative process. To feel satisfied with myself that the efforts and dedication put into the process were worth it. Even if it was challenging to make, if it makes me and others happy it was all worth it.

MONE WALKER

  • 2024 + Finance

  • Aristo

  • What message or emotion do you hope to share with people through your art or business?

I want Aristo to send out a message that defines the appearance of your hair through its health based upon what's being fed to the seed. Which is your scalp. Hair care is essential to our daily routine. In order to maintain the strength of growth we must use natural products that are made with earth herbs to create an organic formulation for the scalp to stimulate circulation of hair growth.

BRIANNA INMAN

  • 2024 + Graphic Design

  • TBD

  • Has your art or business impacted your experience as a student? How has your campus impacted your journey in any way?

My art has grown since I started here at UTPB. I have made many realizations in the artmaking process from my friends and classmates that I couldn’t have taught myself. The collective student body in the art department has pushed me to think harder and work harder than I ever have before, which in turn has made me a better student and human. I am thankful for the talented people who surround me.

ADONIAH LEE

  • Designs by Adoniah

  • Which part of your creative process has been the most rewarding, or challenging to you?

My favorite part of creating my products is when my customers let me know how much they love their item, and when they love it so much, they recommend me to others! On the other side, It can be challenging when I make something that I feel will do really well, but doesn’t do as well as I anticipated.

EMILY BLANKINSHIP

  • 2026 + Graphic Design

  • Paints_Plants_Paws

  • What message or emotion do you hope to share with people through your art or business?

I hope to bring a smile to everyone. Art I feel is often over complicated. There is not hidden meaning in my art. My theme is literally my name! Paints are color, plants such as water lilies, paws are cats and dogs.

ZARIAH SOTO

  • 2025 + Social Work

  • A Touch of Zariah

  • Has your art or business impacted your experience as a student? How has your campus impacted your journey in any way?

As a student, doing any kind of ‘’business” is a great way to force you to interact with your campus. Being new to UTPB and to college in general, only having been in college for two years at two different colleges, selling things has given me an excuse to talk to people around me. I have made acquaintances, I have stepped out of my shell, so if anything, my business has helped me feel more in place on my campus.

SAMUEL JIMENEZ

  • 2024 + Computer Science & Mathematics
